On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, American indie rock band Yo La Tengo will finally come to Rotterdam!

Yo La Tengo is one of the most beloved and respected bands in America. For over thirty-five years, Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley and James McNew have enjoyed worldwide success and directed it all themselves: performing in the best clubs, bars and museums, topping critics’ lists, collaborations with other major artists, a cameo in The Simpsons and their annual Hanukkah shows in Hoboken, New Jersey, through which they have already raised tons of money for charity. The band also provided the soundtrack for several films, including Hal Hartley’s Simple Men. The song My Little Corner of the World was featured on the soundtrack of the Gilmore Girls series, which was named Our Little Corner of the World.

In early 2022, Yo La Tengo, along with David Byrne, released a beautiful cover of Yoko Ono’s “Who Has Seen The Wind”. It was the first single from the tribute Ocean Child: Songs of Yoko Ono, released a month later. In April 2023, the band will tour Europe, including music from their new album This Stupid World which will be released on Feb. 10. This 16th album will be released on Matador Records, and the first single Fallout has already been released.
