Michelle David & The True-tones

In search of the roots of rhythm & blues, R&R and soul, musicians Onno Smit and Paul Willemsen were captivated by the pure energy of this music and decided to make their own variant. Both gentlemen, seasoned with their bands Beans & Fatback and Lefties Soul Connection, found the American Michelle David to be the singer for their search for the cradle of soul.

Michelle David was born in North Carolina and raised in New York. She had been singing in church since she was four and a year later with her first gospel group, The Mission of Love. She wears soul on her tongue and in her heart. In halls, churches and at festivals the roof goes off with David’s exciting performances. Michelle David & the True-tones let you feel and experience the power of gospel and soul. Their music goes from Mali in West Africa to the Caribbean, and then on to New Orleans and to the Mississippi Delta Blues.

With Brothers & Sisters, Michelle David & the True-tones make an album that is full of the flaming soul that they also perform live. They invite the audience to go crazy with the band!
