CHARLOT
Tickets on sale now via Rotown.
CHARLOT is driven by a deep need to understand. After writing her debut album Lost Like Alice, in which she wandered through questions of meaning and identity, she discovers in her new work that identity may not be what truly matters. Inspired by psychology and Eastern philosophy, she realizes she has drifted somewhat from what is essential: her first love for the act of creating itself, the practice of (self-)compassion, and the ability to remain in awe and stay curious.
Her new music emerges as she turns inward and slows down, in a world that keeps rushing forward.
The band likes to describe their sound as “cinematic art-pop” (or “cinemapop”): music that feels like a film. With a strong focus on visual storytelling, hypnotic layers of synths, and vocals that feel intimate and mystical. On stage, this evolves into a multidisciplinary performance—an immersive, dreamlike world where music and art come together.
In recent years, CHARLOT and her band were named the #2 best act at Noorderslag by 3voor12 (“CHARLOT and her band are ready for the bigger stages”). They performed at Lowlands, supported Froukje at AFAS Live and the Lotto Arena, and toured across the Netherlands and Belgium with their own show.
This concert is presented by Rotown. CHARLOT is part of the Nieuwe Makers Regeling (Fonds Podiumkunsten) in collaboration with Motel Mozaïque, O. and Paradiso Melkweg Productiehuis.
