Zines are small, to-the-point booklets that are cheap to produce in big numbers and usually contain a strong message. For instance pamphlets that call to people to stand up against injustice, or DIY arts projects that explain how to take better care of your dying plants. This zine workshop will be all about fan zines for your favourite musical artists – whether they perform at Motel Mozaique this year or not. The workshop takes place in KIOSK, a bookshop, riso studio and leaky press run by artist Flip Driest. Flip will host the workshop together with PEMBE’s Hasret Emine. All materials are present at KIOSK, but please bring whatever images, texts, and photocard trinkets you may want to use for your fan zine(s). This saves us enough time to start working on the zines immediately.
