YARD

Over the past year, we’ve enjoyed an exciting influx of bands mixing rave-y elements with abrasive noise: Mandy, Indiana, Model/Actriz, and of course the great Gilla Band, just to name a few. You can add blossoming Irish group YARD into that mix of techno-noise titans. 

YARD’s post-industrial/darkwave pounce wasn’t part of the plan in the beginning: the drummer stopped showing up at practice, so the band members decided to make the environment their drummer: field recordings of construction site noises – even conversations in a crowd – are manipulated beyond recognition into YARD’s seismic, adrenaline-pumping tracks.

Though piercing and hair-raising in their sonic makeup, YARD can put you into a sensual trance all the same: the kind of band that’ll swallow your senses whole.
