Put violist and songwriter Yanna Pelser in a box at your own behest. You won’t see many artists switch between classical, pop, and improvised music so effortlessly – not to mention with such originality. Solo projects like ALBERTINE reveal an affinity for melody and impulsive experimentation. Pelser’s ‘Singing Violist’-project finds her performing in various languages and stretching the sonic parameters of her chosen instrument beyond traditions.

Pelser’s resume outside of her super distinct solo works speaks for itself: orchestras, jazz ensembles and renowned pop stars alike have all made good use of her peerless talents. North Sea String Quartet, Metropole Orkest, Trio da Kali, Karsu, Duncan Laurence, Samora Pinderhughes, Ikarai, AM.OK/Brainteaser Orchestra and Lilian Vieira, just to name a few. 

Pelser will perform solo at MOMO, intertwining her compositions with unique improvisations.
