Ruda Krua are one of those cross-cultural bands who – quite frankly – break the possibilities of what a band can become wide open again. Bass, clarinet, drums and saxophone – plus a vibrant grid of effect pedals – coalesce together to create highly infectious, torrential music that traverses the realms of punk, afrobeat, spiritual jazz, electronic dance and psychedelic rock. 

Ruda Krua play together like an organism going through rapid evolution. Frantic breakbeat action can dissolve into a soothing ambience, a spiralling freejazz odyssey will suddenly be eaten alive by menacing drones.  It’s the kind of pioneering stuff that should endear them to fans of Sons of Kemet, Horse Lords, Tortoise and The Ex. But really, anyone willing to jump off the deep end will be satiated by the clutches of Ruda Krua.
