Festival 2026
MOMO presents: demo / Friday
During two evenings of MOMO Festival, Roodkapje’s former space at the Schieblok is activated as a melting pot of local musicians, labels, and promoters, from DIY to academically trained, rooted in experimentation. demo is an opportunity for festival-goers and anyone curious to engage with non-conventional music practices and local initiatives, bringing music discovery physically closer.
Six labels and initiatives from the Netherlands and Belgium inhabit the space, working both on and off the stage. Live performances sit alongside installations, publications, and other contributions, turning Roodkapje into a shared environment rather than a strictly stage-based evening.
The ‘Living Room of Sound’ installation is open from 15:00, while performances begin at 20:00.
Program Friday 17 April
Marlotte Nugteren (Patricia’s Pillow) | 20:00-20:45
After stumbling upon a ceramic bird whistle in a thrift store in Helsinki, artist and musician Marlotte Nugteren became fascinated by the sound of clay whistles and started creating a collection of her own. Using her self-made whistles, other handmade sound objects and her voice, she creates ominous soundscapes that form a multi-layered dreamscape telling stories of the source of her instruments: soil. For this performance she will play through an eight-speaker spatial installation, made in collaboration with 4D Sound, which invites the visitor to step inside her compositions, experiencing them as a surrounding landscape rather than a frontal presentation.
Benjamim Furtado with Callum Dean & Jan-Pieter ‘t Hart (corecore) | 21:15-22:00
Brought together by a passion for small independent music scenes, Benjamim Furtado together with Callum Dean & Jan-Pieter ‘t Hart (corecore) present a live event that reflects on the kinds of noises, spaces, and infrastructures that are needed to facilitate a convivial and autonomous music culture. In their dwellings, parallels are made between the architectures of independent venues such as Roodkapje, and the networks and systems through which music is published, distributed and discussed. Connections emerge between real estate, gentrification, and the troubled status of independent culture. Benjamim Furtado (Lisbon, 1998) explores the rhythms and traces of pedestrian life. His work brings together different types of sonic and visual materialities while thematically and formally addressing the field of architecture.
Loveth Besamoh (Inner Basement) | 22:30-23:15
Loveth Besamoh summarises the creative trajectory of the eponymous band he founded quite aptly: a surrender to metamorphosis through music. The birthname given to the Cameroonian producer/multi-instrumentalist literally means ‘To Love / Speak Truth – as powerful a maxim as any when engaging in artistic endeavors. Like a tree branching out from fertile topsoil, the band Loveth Besamoh has organically evolved from its founder’s bedroom productions to a dynamic four-piece outfit that combines post-punk, folk, afro- psychedelica, shoegaze and kraut rock in unorthodox, firebrand fashion. Gaining a steady following with their torrential live performances, Loveth , Do Milder, Devon van Wijngaarden, and Iwan van der Keur have embedded themselves deeply within Rotterdam’s rich alternative music scene, with latest EP Riverbed as the latest marker for the group’s rapidly evolving, collaborative sound. Currently Loveth Besamoh are gearing up to record their long-awaited debut LP.
About Patricia’s Pillow Patricia’s Pillow operates largely from one incentive; the removal of experimental music from its niche and unspecific genus and subsequent recontextualisation within everyday spaces and the banal. Founded by Roman Willems, Laura Kampman, and Joris Takken, the trio focuses on concerts without stages, communal experiences where performers and audience share the same level.
About corecore corecore is a network for contemporary electronic and “online” music, hosting url and irl events in Amsterdam and elsewhere. Their events range from concerts to club nights and bring together local and, international artists, DJs and labels for genre-agnostic devirtualisations.
About Inner Basement Inner Basement is an independent record label founded in 2024 by musician and producer Loveth Besamoh. Born from a deep-rooted passion for raw emotion and boundary-pushing sound, the label champions alternative genres with an underground edge.
