moezeum is a cultural space with a cafe for gatherings, exhibitions and experimentation in Rotterdam. moezeum is initiated by cultural workers from the Global South and two-way citizens. It is a place where we want to own our contractions, rest, think together, help each other and learn by questioning hegemonic discourses in a balm of humour.

For this session, modular synth systems are the base grit. Cheb Runner, fellow kindred modular synth obsessives Max Frimout and Justkey, they will do what they love most: play with modular systems in a space of shared obsession. Als repetition kicks in, met overgaven aan het moment, we’ll move toward collective trance, improvisation without judgment, play as release, and sound to blow off some steam. Here, we release everything: from the grand violence of the state to the small: from superpowers waging war in a ruleless world to the unrelenting purple of VAT letters creeping under our door.

The public is invited to actively join the jam: bring your own machines, instruments, frustrations or VAT letters. But you’re also welcome to retreat to a corner and let the experimental rhythms do the work.In times when it feels like everyone is losing their minds, this is an invitation to tune into some synchrony.

Following this four-hour, trance-inducing modular synth jam, moezeum’s new exhibition, Het Aanslag Loket, opens to the public. Featuring the work of multiple artists, alongside performances, food, and drinks. MOMO visitors are invited to attend.
