Ki!

Ki!, the moniker of Korean-Danish producer and multi-instrumentalist Christian Ki Dall, teems with nostalgic flavours: from the icy synth-saturated splendour of the 80’s, to the warm, sultry moods of Motown’s greatest hits. 

Above all, his music screams a nerdy devotion to music staples from all corners of the earth – the legendary Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum, sample wizard J Dilla, and the most famous of show tunes – Ki! even made his own 21st century rendition of the ‘Knight Rider’ theme song.

Ki!’s recent recording projects, ‘Yong-Gwanglo’ Part One’  and ‘Part Two’, literally translate to ‘melting pot’, just in case there’s a shadow of a doubt about the sheer range of sonic reference points he absorbs and reimagines. With just about the funkiest band alive, Ki! translates all this gloriousness to the stage with an added exclamation mark.
