It’s Also You

Songwriter, performer, and music producer Eva van Manen’s It’s Also You blends music and poetry into an open invitation to explore a shared “light space”—a hopeful intersection of people, cultures, and ideas. 

Van Manen and guitarist/co-producer Rory Ronde take you on a theatrical journey through music, light, and space. Against a backdrop of mesmerising light projections, the duo addresses core issues of our time: the climate crisis,  migration, and the quest for connection in a fragmented world. Gentle yet critical, anchored in the belief that the personal is always political.  

The sound mirrors the performance’s exploration of limits, using a blend of acoustic vibes, electronic beats, indie-pop melodies, and spoken word. Songs from Van Manen’s  past albums ‘Politiek & Liefde’ (2018) and ‘De Diepte In’ (2021) join new material from her upcoming album to tell a cohesive story about humanity’s relationship with the earth. 

It’s Also You addresses themes of resistance, healing, and hope amidst the chaos, and an ongoing search for lightness.
