Gurriers

There are a lot of sharp pointy edges to Gurriers, but a lot of beauty as well. The kind of unseen beauty that usually happens in basements, taverns and other shadowy spaces. These fast-rising Irish punks find poetry in often the most dreadful things – the fear of being terminally online, the dissociation from violence, and other troubles of that nature.

One moment, Gurriers toss the listener in the middle of those aforementioned psychological battlefields with some musical blunt force trauma. The next we hear great melodies and heartfelt songwriting, notably in songs like “Prayers” and “Top of the Bill”. 

Indeed, much like Rotterdam counterparts and good pals Tramhaus, a Gurriers show is a cathartic exercise in tension-and-release. So come and see for yourself.
