CHARLOT’s nimble synth pop is acutely aware of the fact we’re part of this intricate cosmic clockwork. The deeper you go, the darker it often gets. Instead of treading linear narratives, CHARLOT’s songs whirl in conversation, mystery and fluidity. It makes sense that debut LP Lost Like Alice was inspired by Lewis Carroll’s famous novel Alice In Wonderland, for fantasy frequently offers shortcuts towards deeper illumination.

That being said: on the project’s new single ‘The City’, we find Lotte Mulder and her collaborators emerging from the other side of this adventure, illustrating the challenges of modern living where anxiety and euphoria often act like two sides of the same coin. Within the eternal dalliance between imagination and reality, CHARLOT’s atmospheric, propellent sound always cuts a fresh and comforting path.
