Bahghi
Whether her music unfolds like dulcet meditations or locks into a satisfying groove, Bahghi’s signature neo-soul/jazz sound is undeniably magnetic. Taking inspiration from giants like Billie Holiday, Stevie Wonder and Bob Marley, Bahghi’s recordings feel both intimate and timeless. Born into an Eritrean household and growing up in The Netherlands, the rising songwriter and multi-instrumentalist initially picked up classical violin at the age of 4. In her teens, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Vocals at the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2019.
Bahghi’s songwriting can be described as highly personal and vivid, serving as a soundtrack to her life. Her debut EP ‘Sunshine’s Got The Blues’ (2021) is a collection of home recordings co-produced and arranged with Vincent Arp. The same year, she released ‘This Room’ as a follow up solo EP with original material. The live studioalbum, All One (2022), showcases collaborations with acclaimed jazz artists Rory Ronde and Ronald Snijders.
Throughout the releases of larger bodies of work, Bahghi continues to release singles as she carves out her unique path in life, the latest being ‘Joy’.
