MOMO presents: demo

An exploration into diy music practices and community engagement at MOMO Festival 2026

Friday 17 & Saturday 18 April 2026
Location: Roodkapje
Entry fee is donation based

During the later two days of MOMO festival, Roodkapje’s former space at the Schieblok is activated for a two-evening melting pot of local musicians, labels, and promoters – from DIY to academically trained – that’s homegrown and rooted in experimentation. As algorithmic discovery continues to dominate the way listeners access new music, demo is an opportunity both for festival-goers and anyone interested to engage with non-conventional music practices and the promotion of local initiatives, bringing music discovery physically closer and gaining agency in the way they own, find, and listen. The pay-what-you-want program invites six labels and Initiatives from the Netherlands and Belgium to inhabit Roodkapje’s former location, working both on and off the stage. Live performances sit alongside installations, publications, and other contributions, turning Roodkapje into a shared environment rather than a strictly stage-based evening of live music. In this vein, demo aims to be as freely accessible as possible, opening the door to the sheer breadth and quality of work emerging from the local community.
