Gil the Grid
Gil the Grid knows the power of dance like no other.
Shortly after the Rotterdam ‘movement artist’ became experimental dance world champion at his 21, he got a psychosis. Dance helped him to heal and leave this dark period in his life behind him. From the idea that movement leads to self-improvement and helps to process traumas, Gil then founded the dance company Amenti Collective. He has come all the way up top: he won the finals of Holland’s Got Talent 2017 and toured the world as a permanent dancer of Sevdaliza.

Gil the Grid weet als weinig anderen wat de kracht van dans is.
Kort nadat de Rotterdamse ‘bewegingskunstenaar’ op zijn 21e wereldkampioen experimentele dans werd, kreeg hij een psychose. Dans hielp hem om te helen en deze donkere periode in zijn leven achter zich te laten. Vanuit het idee dat beweging naar zelfverbetering leidt en trauma’s helpt te verwerken, richtte Gil vervolgens het dansgezelschap Amenti Collective op. Zelf is hij er in elk geval helemaal bovenop gekomen: hij haalde de finale van Holland’s Got Talent 2017 en tourde de wereld rond als vaste danser van Sevdaliza.
MOMO staat in het teken van het thema LIQUID. Duik met ons in het onbekende en breek los van vastgeroeste normen. Vragen over gender, herkomst, de maatschappij en identiteit echoën om ons heen, vragen waar wij tijdens het festival dieper induiken. Gil The Grid is onderdeel van het thema LIQUID.
