The British sisters Emily, Jessica and Camilla Staveley-Taylor started in 2010 as an acoustic folk rock trio. On the latest album All Now, Emily has taken a step back and we hear The Staves as a duo, but with the same clear, flawless and enchanting harmony vocals.

The Staves have been making music together for as long as they can remember. The sisters grew up in Watford, UK, in a house where Simon & Garfunkel, Crosby, Stills & Nash, James Taylor and The Beatles were on constant rotation. These are also the greatest sources of inspiration. The debut album Dead & Born & Grown (2012) was produced by Ethan Johns and Glyn Johns (The Beatles, Bob Dylan).

The Staves are known for their incredibly well-played harmonies and harmony vocals. The music is a warm bath of characteristic harmonies, fingerpicking guitar playing, sometimes fragile folk but always with a powerful message. The perfect harmonious singing is the most recognizable element in the friendly songs about love and longing.

Pain and discomfort in the lyrics are temporary. Moving forward and taking risks are the only ways to move forward, as on the 2021 album Good Woman. Now there is All Now, a new album full of glowing songs full of powerful statements. The first singles ‘You Held It All’ and ‘All Now’ burst with zest for life.
