Our energy is directed year-round towards MOMO Festival, our three-day multidisciplinary city festival, MOMO Concerts, a Rotterdam concert series, and MOMO Create, where talent development takes center stage. Through these core activities, we produce and present sounds and stories that represent the present time and inspire our audience. For the festival, our artistic signature translates into four pillars: plurality of perspectives, wonder, actuality and space, freedom, and trust.
Due to the departure of one of our programmers, we are looking for an experienced music programmer to join our programming team for the MOMO Festival 2027, with the aim of continuing our collaboration for future editions.
Job Description
The Music Programmer has a shared responsibility for the creation of the music program of MOMO Festival. This is done in consultation with the program team. We expect you to come up with suggestions and ideas, and to make the arrangements with the artist yourself. You will also collaborate with the Marketing & Production departments in this regard.
Position within the organisation
As a programmer, you’re part of the music program team, consisting of the Head of Program, one other programmer, and a program assistant. The program team meets regularly, and there are program meetings where all disciplines of the festival are present.
We are looking for someone who:
– knows MOMO Festival well and understands the artistic vision of the festival, and can select program within that vision;
– has a strong and relevant network with agents, bookers, and artists;
– knows the city of Rotterdam well and is aware of what is happening in the city;
– has experience with bookings, making offers, and is up to date with current fees;
– has flexible availability; during some periods there is more to do and sometimes less;
– can work independently and has a strong sense of responsibility;
– enjoys collaborating in a team;
– enjoys diving into upcoming and new genres;
– is proficient in English, Dutch is a plus.

– appropriate compensation according to the industry association VNPF: Scale 7. For a freelance assignment, we increase this by 50%.
