Caterina Fung is a 75 year old Qiqong teacher from Hong Kong. She lives in Rotterdam since about 30 years. This specific Qiqong we are introducing at the MoMo festival, she learned about 40 years ago in Hong Kong and brought to the Netherlands. She has deepened her practice ever since. It can look simple but a lot happens inside. The mind, the movement and the breath are connected. Then you feel very quiet and peaceful.

Caterina: “At about 30 I had an accident and my doctor said you can only recover fully when you start practicing qiqong and help yourself. This Qiqong helped my body get healthy. It is special, it is more quiet, more inside yourself. By practicing this, you can train your mind to command your body and then your body runs better. Like a car, you need to tune your engine. You can train your mind to control the chi running through your body. Qiqong can also be preparation for meditation or praying. A trained person can meditate more easy by himself, even in the train, during a walk, everywhere you go.”

20 ESOTERIC MANEUVERS

These maneuvers, passed down from Master Choy Hor Ching, are a set of movements based on Taoist doctrines. The maneuvers are intended by regular practice to enhance one’s internal energy (chi) for the riddance of chronic ailments by achieving holistic strength and harmony. While appearing as simple movements, their beneficial effects are deep seated, benefitting whoever perseveres in practicing them with internal peace and tranquility.
