During the annual MOMO Festival, Motel Mozaïque (MOMO) takes over the city of Rotterdam with live music, art, performance and guided tours. We are a non-profit organisation with the mission to connect people, creative talent and the city of Rotterdam through art, music and performance.

MOMO festival is here for the art deep-divers and the music lover who likes to get surprised by a genre bending multidisciplinary line-up. Artists like KOKOROKO, Big Thief, Balimaya Project, Black Country, New Road, Yussef Dayes and Amenti Theatre Company have previously been part of the line-up among many other national and international acts. We work with a small, creative and open-minded team, which expands near the festival dates. MOMO Festival takes place 18-20 April 2024.

About the project
Team marketing is a small team with plenty going on: from coming up with social media concepts to interviewing the artists, and all communication in between. As content creator, you work closely with the head of marketing on the content communicated on all our channels: from the website and newsletter to our social media output. You will come up with concepts for new content and create and edit videos. You will work out graphic design content for MOMO Festival and write (short) texts – such as captions for posts or texts for our website. You will have space to come up with your own concepts and ideas for content. Further, you will contribute to effective communication about the festival in text and image, working in collaboration with the other MOMO team members.

An overview of what you will be doing, among other things:

  • Supporting the head of marketing in managing communication (channels)
  • Devise and produce social media content, including: filming and editing artist interviews and other social content.
  • Working out visuals in Adobe Suite using our design guidelines and templates
  • Writing texts for our website, captions for posts and newsletters, etc.
  • During MOMO Festival: creating visual content, such as behind-the-scenes videos, collaborating with the video team and working with the team on communication concerning the festival (on a practical and creative level).

Who you are

You are a multi-disciplinary creative with an affinity for the artists in our music programme. You have an eye for design and a creative mindset. You are an Adobe Suite pro, and you enjoy working proactively to create your own (video) content. We are looking for someone who enjoys doing many different things and is open to learning new things.

  • You have (proven) experience in shooting videos (with phone and camera)
  • You love doing interviews and are proactive in initiating leads with artists and booker/managements
  • You like to develop and produce new creative concepts for communications
  • You have experience with Adobe Suite: Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and like the challenge of getting to know new applications (such as Mailchimp, our CRM system, WordPress).
  • You enjoy creating and managing (social media) content, both visual and written
  • You have a good command of the English language. Our preference goes out to native speakers. Understanding of the Dutch language is preferred.
  • You are available 20 hours a week in the period before the festival and more widely available in the weeks before, during and the week after MOMO Festival (18-20 April).
  • It’s a plus if you live in Rotterdam (or its region)

What you can expect

  • A dynamic team, with personal and open collaborations. We have a welcoming team that gives space to be yourself and for you to give your own input.
  • Work experience and a broad network in the music and arts field
  • Room for creative input and to take your creative ideas to realisation
  • The full MOMO Festival experience, from start to finish. Since we are a relatively small organisation, you will work closely with the festival team: from production to programme.
  • An appropriate fee according to the VNPF industry organisation’s salary scale

We would like you to be available on a regular and weekly basis, on the other hand some flexibility will be needed, especially the weeks before and during the week of MOMO Festival. We would encourage you to apply if you are not yet carrying a full portfolio but are a match. We are particularly looking for someone who is a good fit for the team.

How to apply

Do you see a match? Then we would like to receive the following:

1. A motivation letter OR a link to a short motivation video (max. 90 sec.) in which you explain why you are the perfect fit for this project
2. A short assignment: Imagine: One of your favourite artists will be playing at MOMO Festival! Write a short social media caption for the post about this- in a tone of voice you feel matches MOMO Festival. Choose an accompanying image to go with it.
3. A (pdf) file with OR link to your portfolio/website/work

We greatly look forward to seeing your creative ideas! You can apply below.
