MOMO Young Talents Club

About MOMO

Since 2001, Motel Mozaique (MOMO) has been a pioneering platform and facilitator for artists, venues, and events in Rotterdam. MOMO is a dynamic mosaic of people, art, culture, and music – united by equality, understanding, and a focus on humanity. We create connections between artists and audiences, open doors to hidden locations, and present the city as a stage to national and international guests.

We are a non-profit cultural organization dedicated to three core activities: MOMO Festival, our three-day multidisciplinary city festival; MOMO Concerts, a Rotterdam-based concert series; and MOMO Create, a program focused on talent development for local artists and arts professionals. Through these initiatives, we produce and showcase the contemporary sounds and stories that embody the vibrant culture woven into our city’s fabric.

The Young Talents Club

Are you passionate about working in the festival/music scene but feel you lack the typical experience required? The Young Talents Club (YTC) is here to help you break into the industry. The YTC program at Motel Mozaïque offers a unique opportunity for young talents to develop their skills and gain experience, regardless of their background.

Over the past five years, the YTC has helped numerous individuals take their first (or second or third) steps into the industry, providing young people from diverse backgrounds with an opportunity to grow professionally. Since its inception in 2019, many of our Young Talents have successfully launched their careers, with alumni now holding positions at renowned cultural institutions such as AIR Rotterdam, Dekmantel, Fonds21, EKKO, Paard, and Roffa Mon Amour. Additionally, several members of our current team also began their journey at MOMO as Young Talents!

What does it entail?
We tailor the program to each talent, identifying the most relevant track, department, and goals that align with their ambitions. Participants have the opportunity to work in various departments, including Marketing, Programming, Production, Volunteer Coordination, and Business Management. Regular check-ins provide coaching and guidance to ensure a healthy, educational, and productive experience.

From November until April, you’ll be part of the Motel Mozaïque team, working out of our office in the Schieblock in Rotterdam. You’ll learn from our experienced MOMO professionals while also having the space to develop and test your own ideas. We view the YTC as a two-way street, where we learn as much from you as you’ll do from us. You’ll be working within a department (Production, Program, Business Management, or Marketing/Communication), participating and assisting in the daily activities. You’ll receive a monthly reimbursement of € 500,- and are expected to be in the office approximately two days a week (0.4 fte). Additionally, we ask for your full availability during the festival week (April 14-20, 2025).

Beyond day-to-day work, we organize a series of masterclasses for the talents, led by industry professionals from our network. These sessions are tailored to the interests of you and your fellow talents. To give you an idea, past topics have included:

  • How to Run a Festival.
  • Business Management & Funding.
  • Legal Matters in the Music Industry.
  • How to Create a Festival Program.
  • Motel Mozaïque’s extensive national and international music industry network is at your disposal, helping you build a foundation for your career.

So Who Are We Looking For?
Are you eager to learn new things at a festival? Do you have a deep love for the city of Rotterdam, arts & culture or creative expression? Are you solution-oriented and supportive of your team members? If you’re starting out in the industry and live in or around Rotterdam, you could be a great fit for the Young Talents Club. We value your motivation above your work or educational background – even if you’re still figuring out your path – so we won’t ask you for your prior experience or CV.
