TURNING WASTE INTO TASTE
As much as one third of all food produced worldwide never reaches your plate. This mega waste is not only a waste, but it also costs important resources, such as fertile land, water, labour and energy. Indeed, if food waste were a country it would be the 2nd biggest polluter in the world. If we want a healthier planet, we will have to tackle this waste.
Apart from all these facts about the environment and resources, it just doesn’t feel right to throw food away. Surely no one is in favour of food waste? We at FALAFVAL certainly are not. Indeed, we want to show how we can handle our food differently.
FALAFVAL wants everyone to see and taste that a lot of food waste is not really waste. We therefore make falafel from ‘waste’ vegetables and beans that we buy from local food producers. In this way, one person’s waste becomes another person’s falafel and we keep the food chain transparent and short. And you can enjoy the tastiest falafel!
