Sweet, but hard: catchy but ruthless: Pom Poko is a contradiction in itself. They might sound postpunk one minute and poppy math rock the next.
Anyways, this Norwegian band knows how to draw attention as they managed to play festivals like Roskilde and The Great Escape, whilst only making music for a little under a year. NME named this four piece “one of the most promising acts of 2018” . Yes, all that without even having their first record out- which will be released in February by renowned British label Bella Union.

Wat het ene moment nog als postpunk klinkt, doet niet veel later meer aan een poppy variant van mathrock denken. Afijn, de Noorse band weet in elk geval de aandacht te trekken en stond binnen een jaar na oprichting al op festivals als Roskilde en The Great Escape. NME noemde de vierkoppige formatie bovendien een van de meest veelbelovende acts van 2018. En dat allemaal zonder een debuutalbum in de schappen – die komt in februari uit bij het toonaangevende Britse label Bella Union.
