De Schuurman
MOMO NIGHTS
Do you remember Hardwell’s Bubbling Beats compilations and the clubs where sweat dripped from the walls as soon as K-Liber’s ‘Dancing’ was played? If you grew up in Rotterdam or The Hague at the turn of the century, chances are that Bubbling evoked some nostalgic feelings. The Hague producer and DJ De Schuurman also grew up with it and is now breathing new life into the genre.
De Schuurman is not a stranger to it: his uncle, DJ Chippie, is a veteran of the Bubbling scene. De Schuurman himself was already spinning as a teenager more than ten years ago in clubs like Thalia and Off Corso. Recently hixfs career reached new heights: he joined the renowned Ugandan label Nyege Nyege, which released its debut album Bubbling Inside last fall. In recent months he has been behind the decks in France, Senegal and Greece, but he has also performed at Le Guess Who and Garage Noord.
