Altin Gün
Turkish psych-rock
[:en]
Turkish Psych rock has been gaining a lot of attention in the West again this last decade or so, but only a few bands have embraced the genre the way Altin Gun have.
3voor12 called them ‘the most exciting coverband in the Netherlands’, but besides Anatolian rock covers they now also play their own interpretations of traditional Turkish music. Last spring saw them give birth to their debut album, On, and during the summer they were seen playing festivals like, Best Kept Secret and Into the Great Wide open. And yes, even across from the Dutch borders they have gained quite a following with their danceable psychedelica: performing their music from Spain to France to Canada and yes, obviously, Turkey as well.

Into The Great Wide Open.
“Live, they’re a lithe, slinky beast, unifying crowds in a sea of dancing limbs and carefree glee.”
