LantarenVenster

LantarenVenster is the theater for the better film and the best jazz in Rotterdam. With over 9600 film screenings per year, more than 120 concerts, several major festivals, educational projects, conferences and other public events, there is always something going on seven days a week.

Film

With five movie theaters, there is a new film program every week filled with the finest films: Oscar winners, documentaries, classics, world cinema and children’s films. With a program of non-Western and mainly European quality film, LantarenVenster shows a selection that is not usually seen in regular cinemas. Every year there are several big festivals like Camera Japan, IFFR, Cinekid Festival and the Rotterdam Open Screen Film Festival where you can admire the new generation of filmmakers.

Music

Every year there are over 120 concerts: jazz, singer-songwriter and world. The emphasis is clearly on jazz, in the full breadth of the genre. Including crossovers. Motel Mozaique (in collaboration with Rotown, BIRD and LantarenVenster) also regularly programs concerts here, such as, in 2018, Curtis Harding, Trixie Whitley and Young Gun Silver Fox.

Eating & drinking

In the café-restaurant, with the beautiful view of the Rijnhaven, you can join them daily. Combine a breakfast, lunch or dinner with a movie or concert.
