Kampong Express

“We are actually right next to the artist entrance of the former Nighttown, where I worked as a concert programmer for 15 years and where the concept of Motel Mozaïque was born. Artists like Nirvana, Jeff Buckley, Johnny Cash and Prince still parked their vans here in front of the door, the exhaust heading towards the Chinese grocery store that was still here at the time.”

The green produce stand has now given way to Kampong Express: traditional Malaysian food prepared by a Chinese couple and served by their daughter. Highly recommended: the Laksa and the homemade ginger beer.
