MOMO Festival 2019

Psychedelic noiserock

“It’s like being run over by a steamroller for 41 minutes, but in a good way.” The Guardian wrote about Yak’s debut.

And it is difficult to disagree: the psychedelic noise rock of the London trio seems to be created to overwhelm completely. The second plate of the men, which appears in February, drove frontman Oli Burslem almost into the abyss: he put all his money into the creation of it, thereby became homeless for a while and also struggled with his mental health. Luckily it was not for nothing: at the end of 2018 Yak signed with Virgin EMI and thus started a new, much brighter chapter.
