Dj St. Paul doesn’t believe in genres. His sets are wider than the thighs of Fredericus van Utrecht. A style that fits well with the pop stage circuit in which he was raised. In TivoliVredenburg, St. Paul has hosted the Pop-O-Matic every week for over twenty years. Under the motto Different Styles, Different People, One Love, decades of pop music are poured into one flowing mix on these busy evenings.
St. Paul also likes to put its eclectic stamp on the festivals. He has been hosting stages at Best Kept Secret and Into The Great Wide Open for years, but an excess of missionary urgency brought him just as easily to Lowlands, Kaltern Pop, Film Festivals, Museum Nights and a colorful caravan of clubs last year.
Beautiful songs is all that interests him. Whether that concerns big hits, obscure nuggets, the very young present or a deep gray past, is of secondary importance. Feel free to call someone else for a set of generic glides.
Expect 360 indie sets on Friday and Saturday nights in St. Paul’s Rotown. Postpunk, wave, rave, Britpop, and all things indie on the dance floor. Wet legs assured!
