Sandro Setola (NL)

Sandro Setola (Heerlen, 1976) uses different media: animation, installations, videos and drawings. His work is characterized by the fascination for nature and natural processes.Universal themes such as isolation, transformation, growth and decay are often included in his projects. For several years, Setola has focused mainly on architecture and utopian proposals as support for his ideas. The tension between the ideal and the actual situation creates questions about the influence of the environment on humans and vice versa. Setola studied at the Academy of Art and Design in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Glasgow School of Art and the National Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam. In 2009, he won the Charlotte Pallandt Price. Motel Mozaique will show Setola’s 3D animation ‘Form Follows Death’ on the media wall in the Rotterdamse Schouwburg.
