OPEN CALL WINNER
After the bombing in 1944, Rotterdam had to reinvent itself. Nowhere can this be seen better than in the idiosyncratic architecture of the city. This does not only tell the story of the Maasstad, but also reflects the mentality of Rotterdammers during the reconstruction.
The name Intersection says it all: this project by the Opskeer collective is a crossroads where Rotterdam architecture, art, public space and a festival meet.
About the artists
Opskeer is a four-member Rotterdam art collective. The men have backgrounds in various disciplines – from painting and video to metal and woodworking. Opskeer specializes in sculptures and has previously worked for Atelier Van Lieshout, Vrije Volk Festival and Wildeburg Festival, among others.
