Nick Mulvey (GB)
Nick Mulvey began his musical career with piano and drums, but at the age of 18 he bought his first guitar in Spain. During his student years he met the members of his Portico Quartet. After graduation, the quartet released their debut album Knee-deep in the North Sea. This album was nominated for a Mercury Music Prize. The group performed in more then 150 countries!
Influenced by Paul Simon, Nick Drake and the music of Cuba, Congo and Mali, he’s now working on his solo debut album. Nick wants to combine different genres. He is even called a ‘musical innovator’ and he was compared to José González and Nick Drake. His second EP, recording with producers Charlie Andrews (Alt‐J) andDavid Kosten (Everything Everything, Bat for Lashes) will be released this Spring on Communion Records (Ben Howard, Michael Kiwanuka).
