About the crash course wild harvesting

‘Please try this at home’

  • This route is meant for inspiration and it’s not intended that you go harvesting along the way.
  • So today there will be enough left for everyone to enjoy 🙂
  • We would like to inspire you so that you can harvest in your own neighborhood and make some great dishes with your own harvested goodies.

General wild harvesting rules

  • Only pick if you are sure that the plant is edible, as there are also poisonous plants out there.
  • Use a book to identify plants
  • Take a wild harvesting course.
  • Make sure you never pick too much of one species in a certain area, and leave enough behind to allow the plant to grow further.
  • Always wash your wild harvest carefully.

  • Get your Green Expedition package here at the MOMO-desk or hand in your stuff here when this is your ending point.
  • Enjoy a snack that’s made of Voedseltuin’s ingredients!

Stichting Voedseltuin was founded in August 2010 with the aim of providing the food packages of the Food Bank Rotterdam with healthy and fresh food. This was successful and the Voedseltuin has been producing many kilos of vegetables for the food packages for a number of years.

Voedseltuin Rotterdam stands up for a healthy city. They are in favor of a sustainable urban society, with healthy food for everyone. Without poverty and social exclusion. With people who actively shape their own lives and take responsibility for each other and their environment.

Keilecafe is a self proclaimed ‘permanent festival’, but in reality so much more. A place for wood-oven pizza’s, sangria sunbathing, daytime tipsiness and unparalleled DJ’s. Keilecafe is sometimes a relaxed city oase, sometimes a celebration of life with hundreds dancing the day and night away, depending on how we feel. Bring your friends, or make some new ones.

If you look down from the Pieter de Hoochbrug, you will see one of the CLEAR RIVERS plastic traps. This innovative building operates completely without electricity. Floating plastic waste collected in rivers and harbors before it flows into the sea. After collection, the plastic is sorted, recycled and processed into new products.

There will be a new park of 12,000 square meters between the Heemraadsingel and Het Park near the Euromast. The new Coolhaven Park will soon have about 128 new trees, sunbathing areas, plants and open spaces. Coolhaven Park will become part of the Groene Connectie, an eight-kilometer walking route that connects green initiatives in Delfshaven. Every newcomer in Rotterdam wonders, which park do you mean? At most you will get the addition Het Park at the Euromast. But the statement Het Park usually suffices. Because it was just simply the first park in Rotterdam.
