Marlon Williams

Hearing his unadulterated country songs you would think Marlon Williams comes from the American heartland, but you’re wrong. In a small village in New Zealand for one half occupied by harbor workers and the other half by artists, Williams grew up as the son of a painter and a punk musician. All songs on his debut album he regards as different characters, which explains the impressive diversity of its songs. ‘Darkchild’ is a seemingly simple, somewhat dark ballad, while the fast Hello Miss Lonesome sounds like a bar fight.
