The name may suggest otherwise, but Mandy, Indiana has no roots in the American Midwest. And despite the lead singer’s Valentine Caulfield’s exclusively French-speaking vocals, the four-member band is not based in Paris either, but in Manchester. There, a nice buzz has quickly developed around the band.
The EP ‘…’, the first success of Mandy, Indiana, switches constantly between energetic rave beats and industrial post-punk. The latter is not surprising: a part of the EP was recorded in an industrial mill, for an extra gritty sound. Girl Band and producer Daniel Avery, among others, are already fans.
