Leif Vollebekk taught himself to play at a young age on the instruments he inherited from his grandfather: a harmonica, guitar, piano and violin. At about the same time he discovered the music of legends such as Bob Dylan and Neil Young. And those influences can ultimately be heard in his own songs: musing, sometimes melancholic indie folk that forms the perfects soundtrack for a nightly road trip.
With his third album, the singer-songwriter was nominated in 2017 for a Polaris Prize, one of the most important music prizes in Canada. His successor, New Ways, was released on November 1st.
