Josephine (GB)

The English Josephine from Manchester has Liberian and Jamaican roots and grew up listening to the music of  Odetta, Mahalia Jackson and Joni Mitchell.  The soul and jazz influences can be heard on Portrait, her debut album that brings a novel but nostalgic sound with a full own identity.  Elbow frontman Guy Garvey called Josephine ‘an old soul singer in a beautiful young girl’ .
