A touch of spirituality, a good dose of South London idiosyncrasy and a raspy soul voice that immediately reminds you of Amy Winehouse and Erykah Badu. That’s Greentea Peng in a nutshell. Her latest EP Rising has the same effect as a cup of green tea on a cold day: warm, comforting and maybe even a little healing. The singer is well on her way to becoming a fixture in the British music scene. She recently toured England with Neneh Cherry and was spotted in the studio with UK garage legend Mike Skinner (The Streets).
