Django Django (UK)
A band that mixes folk music with electronica perhaps doesn’t sound that original these days. Yet, Django Django’s self-titled debut album is one of the most surprising albums of the moment. While their musical influences range from tropical to tribal, Django Django’s most striking assets are their recurring vocal harmonies. With catchy tunes and fresh vocals, it is not surprising that the band is often compared to cult group The Beta Band.
“It’s a dream of the psychedelic tropics, a heady explosion of colours, an album that takes what it means to be ‘in an indie band’ and gives it a good shake.” – NME
