It has been more than two decades since the release of Destroyer’s debut album, but the band led by Dan Bejar cannot be captured in one word or genre even after all this time. Lo-fi, new wave, jazz pop, glam rock: Destroyer seems to reinvent itself every few years. That charming idiosyncrasy was not rewarded with a full prize cabinet or golden records, but with a loyal fan base that always eagerly looks forward to the new path that Bejar has now taken. This is also the case in anticipation of the thirteenth (!) album Have We Met, to be released at the end of January.
“Dan Bejar made a traditional album with Ken that can compete with the biggest albums of pop music.” – 3voor12
