Aimée de Jongh (NL)

‘One Past Two’ is the graduation film of Aimée de Jongh, with which she successfully completed her major Animation at the Willem de Kooning Academy in 2011. In the short film, a boy and a girl meet eachother at a bus stop. During the long wait, the two grow closer together, not knowing that the bus stop is located on the border of life and death. ‘One Past Two’ consists out of 8000 drawings, which were drawn frame by frame. It took Aimée five months to complete the film, which was then shown at the Dutch Film Festival.

Within a few years, Aimée de Jongh (1988) has built a resplendent career as a cartoonist, illustator and animator. She has worked for a range of Dutch newspapers, the North Sea Jazz Festival and the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Her work was exhibited in the Netherlands and Norway. Currently, Aimée’s comic ‘Snippers’ is featured daily in the newspaper Metro.
