Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy & The Cairo Gang

Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy doesn’t visit Holland a lot, last time he played a sold out Tivoli show in 2012. But now he will do a tour, a small one and really special! For one week Bonnie and his right hand The Cairo Gang (Emmett Kelly) will play churches, chapels and other beautiful spots in Holland. All these shows are completely unamplified (see video below for a preview). So no microphone and no amplifier. Music at its purest. On Friday 19th September Motel Mozaique’s creative director Harry Hamelink presents Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy & The Cairo Gang in the ‘Noorse Kerk’ (Norwegian Church, in the Euromast park).

The man who acts under the name Will Oldham and sings and composes under the name Bonnie “Prince” Billy has, over the past quarter-century, made an idiosyncratic journey through, and an indelible mark on, the worlds of indie rock and independent cinema. With his highly individualistic approach to music making and the music industry, one that cherishes intimacy, community, mystery, and spontaneity; his brilliance has captivated fans and made Bonny one of our most influential and beloved songsmiths.

For this tour Bonnie will bring along Emmett Kelly aka The Cairo Gang on guitar.

This tour is initiated by The Royal Stable, the Dutch Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy fansite and broeder Dieleman, a big fan who will be supporting Bonnie on this exclusive tour.

Tickets €25 are available from Saturday 10 May 10:00 at recordstore Velvet Music in Rotterdam (Oude Binnenweg 121 A). Max. 2 tickets per person!
