British drummer, percussionist and composer Tom Skinner returns to Rotterdam on 22 January 2026!

Remember Tom Skinner’s memorable artist residency at MOMO Festival 2024, where he presented his work across three days in unique settings throughout Rotterdam? Now the British drummer returns to the city with his latest project.

Skinner has spent two decades at the heart of London’s underground music scene, performing with Sons of Kemet and The Smile (alongside Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood). Yet it’s in his recent solo work where his singular vision truly shines: music where jazz tradition meets experimental freedom, where composed beauty dissolves into improvised spontaneity.

His latest album Kaleidoscopic Visions captures this alchemy perfectly. With a stellar quintet featuring two tenor saxophones, cello, double bass and Skinner’s evocative percussion, the music shifts like light through a prism. From meditative passages to soaring collective improvisation, these are compositions that breathe, that demand attention while rewarding every moment of it.

This intimate concert offers a rare chance to experience Skinner’s kaleidoscopic world up close, in the seated setting of LantarenVenster.

The Boxer Rebellion returns to Maassilo Rotterdam on 18 March 2026, presenting their new album (March 2026)!

London band The Boxer Rebellion are known for their grand, stadium-worthy anthems. With an eye for detail, they build layered productions that sound clear and spacious, while the warm, reverberating vocals flow straight into your heart and lift you up effortlessly. With The Second I’m Asleep (March 2026), their seventh studio album, The Boxer Rebellion writes a new chapter in their impressive story full of world tours, film and TV collaborations and a loyal global fanbase.

All these years, The Boxer Rebellion has built on its unmistakable sound: alternative rock songs that are as awe-inspiring in their dynamics as the average stadium act, but nevertheless fall back on the intimacy of that one charming band from the local pub. A band with modesty and character!

De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig celebrates its twentieth anniversary with a grand celebration, including a performance at Rotterdam’s Maassilo. What started with “Watskeburt?!” grew into a cultural phenomenon. DJVT brought hip hop to the mainstream with their catchy mix of beats, humour and absurdist poetry. Hits like “Sterrenstof” and “Get Spanish” followed, as did a series of successful albums. Twenty years later, they’re still at the top of their game. Legends don’t age, they evolve.

In Vrijplaats, Wende goes back to basics. In this performance, Wende transforms the track into a sanctuary; a place where everything is possible. Together with keyboardist Nils Davidse, she takes the audience on a journey with a soundtrack consisting of nothing more than two pianos and her voice.

After the sold-out extra show at De Doelen last Sunday, Wende takes this stage one last time on Saturday 1 November 2025. Don’t miss your chance to experience it live.

On Saturday 13 December Matt Berninger brings Sean O’Brien and Julia Laws for an intimate trio performance at Theater Rotterdam!

Matt Berninger is the vocalist and lyricist for Grammy Award-winning band The National. Known for his deep baritone voice and poetic, emotionally charged songwriting, Berninger’s work has long garnered praise for its poignant, jagged-edged wit and intimately emotive melodies. Beyond his work with The National, he released his solo debut album Serpentine Prison’ (2020), followed by ‘Get Sunk’ (2025). Subtle and layered indie rock at its finest.
