Vacancy: Open Call coordinator (X/V/M)
avg. 5 hours/week | Freelance, 1 July 2025 – 31 May 2026 | Application Deadline: June 16th

Are you passionate about supporting and empowering talented artists across all disciplines? Do you find fulfillment in thinking along in their creative process and facilitating their wildest artistic dreams? Then we might be looking for you!

With the departure of our previous coordinator, we are now looking for an experienced project coordinator to join our programming team and take the lead on the Open Call for MOMO Festival 2026.

The Open Call
Each year since 2018, Motel Mozaïque calls for creatives to present their project during MOMO Festival. Over the past couple years, this Open Call has helped numerous artists realise ambitious projects, from theatre performances, to sculptures, paintings and immersive art installations. For the previous edition of MOMO Festival, 17-19 April 2025, we joined forces with the Amarte Foundation, and this collaboration enabled us to improve and expand the Open Call process, providing a more equitable selection process, extensive guidance and an increased budget and fair fee for the selected participants.

The coming year, we’re continuing this program for MOMO Festival 2026, with the ambition to facilitate an even better creative process for a new group of budding artists.

Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for an enthusiastic (starting) professional who not only understands MOMO’s artistic vision but also recognises the complexities involved in bringing multiple art projects to life. You thrive in a team environment, communicate clearly and effectively, and bring a strong sense of responsibility to your work. Project management experience is a plus, especially if you’re skilled at maintaining oversight, working independently, and balancing multiple priorities. Flexibility is key, as the workload will vary over the course of the lead-up to the festival. We accept both Dutch and English applications!

Responsibilities of the role

  • Developing the open call concept, including writing the call text and preparing the necessary application materials;
  • Organize and coordinate the selection process in collaboration with the programming team and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Serve as the main point of contact for applicants and selected artists throughout the entire process — from application and project development to festival production and presentation;
  • Organize inspiration sessions and workshops for both applicants and selected artists;
  • Coordinate key project management tasks such as scheduling, production, contracting, budgeting, and logistics, in close collaboration with the production and business teams;
  • Maintain clear communication with applicants, artists, and the festival team throughout the full trajectory of the open call;
  • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure clear communication of the project and to develop promotional materials for the selected artists;
  • Lead the evaluation process and reporting after the festival.

What can you expect from us?

  • An assignment at a forward-thinking multi-disciplinary festival, deeply rooted in the city of Rotterdam;
  • A pleasant office environment where you’re always welcome;
  • A fair compensation in line with the guidelines of the Dutch live music and festivals association (VNPF) – including a 50% freelance supplement on top of the VNPF fee;
  • A supportive team full of passionate idealists, who value new ideas and where initiative is encouraged. We work from a foundation of trust, not blind expectation.

How to apply?
To apply, send your motivation letter and CV before June 16th via this link – and we’ll get back to you by June 20th. The interviews will be held on 25 June 2025, so keep that in mind – If that date is not an option for you, please let us know so we can plan around it if necessary.
